What's that phrase about the best laid plans?

After setting out to create an online resource for gamers who are as into Railroad Tycoon 3 as I am, PlayRage was sidelined by server issues. They were, as usual, partially my fault. I decided that I wanted to add a new stats tool which led to several days of painful adjustments. Finally, we decided to move the site to our hosting company's new servers which had the stat software I wanted to use already installed. That led to about a week of adjustments and tweaks since we use a wide number of scripts to manage the site.

All is done now but the first strike opportunity with the RT3 community has been lost. There are a number of folks offering map resources. However, most of them are using free hosters like Yahoo! which gives me yet another window of opportunity.

PlayRage is going to offer itself as a repository for the maps since we don't face the same bandwidth restrictions as a person using Yahoo! Groups does. I'll still need to keep a close eye on the downloads but I feel good about how this should shake out.

I'm also almost done with the new Railroad Tycoon 3 RageSite. This'll be the mini-portal for all things RT3 on PlayRage.
